Visiting LEIR

LEIR is part of an official guided tour organised by the visits service where you are able to see the full accelerator throughout most of the year.
During the CERN OpenDays, LEIR is also one of the visit/exhibition points where you can get a specific guided tour from one of the CERN Official guides or LEIR Experts.
LEIR Safety Information
Access into the LEIR machine is limited to CERN staff and contractors, when there is no beam.
To gain access you are required to:
- Have already requested the LEIR access rights via ADAMS
- Have a vaild IMPACT for each intervention/access
- Have completed all off the necessary safety courses and wear the recommended PPE – See here for list of specific courses and PPE required.
